Yet more tales from the Zone known as VR...

Apparently VR Zone has some super secret spy pics of the R600. I can't view that site from work but I can see some wonderful R600 pics at this page over at Overclockers.com. And before all you guys go nuts, I really don't think that the card will be that long when it hits shelves. The card they show is so long, I don't think it could fit into my giant Thermaltake Armor case.

I'm under the impression this is the OEM (aka Dell) version of the card; the retail should only be 9".

Is the news useless, or is the video card useless? (Hint, if the news is useless, you will make me cry.)

No i meant the pic since we all heard the retail version would ve shorter then the 8800gtx. My guess is that this card was made very early in the cycle before the design being finalized.

The OEM version is going to end up 12" because, really, they want to make sure the card never overheats, and no-one really cares about having a pre-built computer that has one of the HDD bays filled by a GPU fan.

The retail version will end up (probably) 9.5", and will end up pressing against your cabling for your HDDs--measure it out. You SHOULD be able to fit it in with a SATA drive... but it's going to be freaking tight.

really?
If you have worked for ATI, may be you know, have ATI sent some cards with R600 GPU for testing? There was a rumor that it was some kind of registration in AMD's home page and some of the people who registered, got a R600 card...

I hope it's true cause then i'd sell my card for 300$(I can get that in some areas especially since it's 640mb) And buy the x2800xt since it will fit into my case.
