Wayy back in April of 2007 I brought you the awesomeness of the Golden Pig X1650 Pro from PowerColor. Well we are now in the year of the rat which means I get to show you the Golden Rat HD 2600 Pro!

Not only does this product exist, but you can now buy this oddity for only $50.00 from our friends at Newegg! See you again next year for a post about the Golden Ox HD 3650 from PowerColor.

Does that mean we'll be seeing triple-slot cooling?
Oh, man. 2009 is also the year of fire...
I don't think Chinese astrology has giraffes in it, but have you tried speaking to the Bushmen of the Kalahari?
Or is that the year of Coca-Cola bottles?
Nah, the gods must be crazy.

Nvidia's still doing better than AMD (ATI) financially
I hope they beat Nvidia next round of cards too
They really need the money after getting their butt kicked by Intel's Core 2

ATI is only doing well in bang for the buck; rumors have surfaced of a GTX280X2, which if it doesn't melt, will destroy the 4870X2.

if you've checked reviews of 4870 X2 vs 280 SLI and 280 x3....that there is limited amount on return, only a few games that the 280 sli setup does well in and really the gtx 280 x2 is just a sli setup so we already know how they'll do. and if they cost nearly 800.00....the 4870 x2 is still a far far better buy

@wyz135, i'm just worried about AMD overall, the company as a whole has to survive for ATI division to continue

So a GX2 would cost like 800-1000 USD .

They probably won't price it higher than two separate GTX 280's. If they do it won't be by much. For example the 9800GX2 was ~$600 at launch when the predecessors (8800GTS G92) could be had for $250-275.
@ultima
I wasn't saying that the 4870X2 still wouldn't be the better buy, I was stating that the green team would probably get the performance crown back. And considering that I've heard that a GTX260 SLi setup is on par with a 4870X2, and a new dual GPU chip from nVidia could drive the 260 prices down, big green could be getting a bang for the buck card again.
Just another part of the price wars.
