biostar sff w/ 250w PS - athlon xp 3000 - 1 gig generic ram and a via kt400 chipset
Comp usa - 229 usa dollars
Just purchased on 01/13/06: Upgrading from a Pny Geforce 6800 3199(3d/05) w/ 81.98 drivers overclocked to 3400(3d/05) with NVTweak . AGP850 PRO - Right out of the box with cd drivers dated 12-04-04 3dmark05 score 0f 4711- with updated drivers (5-13) release score went to 5025(3d/05). with minor overclocking score at 5249(3d/05) and with the omega drivers and overclocking 5320(3d/05).
all in all it was a nice bump in performance with the updated drivers.

Speed may be king but, image quality has alot to do with satisfaction.I'll post my opinion on which was better with each board IMO. Doom 3 - ati. Quake 4 - 6800. Farcry - ati. Area 51 - ati(vast improvement). project snowblind - ati.
Kong - toss-up. Cod2 - 6800. Black and White2 - toss-up etc. etc.

What really matters to me, with an aging Agp slot and limited future options is: I still was able to find something to work in my board.

With new cards coming out from ATI, the older ones can be picked up for a fraction of the original cost sometime seeing a saving of 40% or more. It may not be "state of the art" but, neither will that new $600.00 card 6 months from now. If you have an Agp slot that could use an upgrade, time IS running out.

Just picked one up on ebay for $114 - lots of folks upgrading to PCI-E boards and selling their old units....get em while they're hot, people.
