Re-using the last generation's low-end core.. Couldnt they make a new low-end core?

That MSI card is even worst than you listed it as Mike. It does not have 256MB of DDR2, it has 128MB or DDR2 and it has Hyper Memory for support up to 512MB. You know if Hyper Memory or Turbo Cache is involved the card is not gonna be too good...

Wait a minute! Should'nt all x1k and 7 series have shader model 3.0 standard? Is Amd trying to screw things up? I mean everyone knows that each gen of cards should have the same core basics!(Software i mean not hardware aka pipes)

I got one of these X1050 and it over performed my old X700. But at the same time I installed a core 2 duo.

What impact does a dual core processor have on games.

I think they made this card to get pc's vista ready. For anyone who has no interest in gaming but wants to run vista i'm sure this is the card they'll buy because its the cheapest.

Yeah...but why make it PS 2.0? It should at least be PS 3.0.

The VisionTek box says Shader Model 3.0, DirectX 9.0c. Could they be cheating us?

The real purpose of this card is to allow you to use Vista Aero without lag at all

I am considering this GeCube X1050 128-Bit 256MB card to use while my sons card is RMA'd. At $19.98 Shipped (AMIR) from Newegg, it's hard to beat for something I can toss in a drawer until I need it again, or sell to somebody using Integrated Video for Vista. Either way, no big loss if I get the $25 rebate.
