Theres not much info about this card but aren't these crippled 4890s(RV790, not RV740)?
Which would also mean its on a 55nm process.

GPU is RV790.

Essentially an underclocked and partially crippled HD 4870 , cheers .
The real world performance shouldn't too shabby , though .

Seems pretty adequate for the price, 11.2k mega pixels a second is plenty for any moderate gamer, running on a 40 nanometer gpu it uses less power then the 4870 but has pretty much the same performance in games aside from the 800 mega pixels a second more the 4870 has, but who wouldnt mind to pay $30 less for a card with near the same performance. also, the 40nm gpu will generate less heat therefore giving you a higher overclock to easily surpass the 4870. in my opinion the only thing its missing is DirectX 11.

The specs are wrong. The 4860 has a 256-bit bus, not 128-bit

@ McArthur

That's because the GPU is RV790 and not RV740.

I'm pretty new to video cards and could use some educated opinions on a question I have. I understand that the higher the number the better the card (essentially). I understand that clock speed and memory size/type hold a lot of weight in video cards, but how much weight does memory interface carry? I ask b/c this card (HD 4860) has a 256-bit interface but a higher rated card such as the (HD 5770) only has a 156-bit interface. How do these two cards compare?

Gotchya, Sorry, I'm a n00b, but I will definitely post to the Forums from here on out. And thank you -RK for answering my question in the HD 5770 comment area.

@n'Lite

That does not change the fact that it really is 256-bit.

Check Sapphire's website yourself.
(Or just use common sense. This card can't perform better than the 4770 if it had lower clocks, lower memory bandwidth, and the same number of shaders.)

HD 4860 Max power draw can up to 170Watt dude not a 80 watt, its require 2X PCI-E 6pin, so a 400watt real power supply is requirement to drive this card. Also In Malaysia, this card only sell RM409/ USD 120... can compare into new Nvidia Geforce GTS 450 @RM 459 (Bad English : )

@radiator HD4860 was made from defective HD4890 cores. It is not related to HD4870. The bad HD4870 cores used to go into HD4830 cards before they were discontinued. I suspect that ATi started getting better yields on HD4870 cores and didn't have enough bad ones to keep HD4830 in production. They also didn't have enough bad HD4890 cores to keep HD4860 in production for very long which is why Sapphire was the only vendor of those parts.

@coolingmy Sapphires recommendation is a 500W PSU for this card.
