This news comes straight from China via the Google translator. Luckily the specs themselves require no translation. 8600 Ultra and 8600 GT specifications. 8300 GT and 8300 GS specifications. Apparently the 8600 Ultra has a MSRP of $179 and will launch in Q3 of 2007. The 8600 GT has a MSRP of $149 and will launch this May along with the 8300 GT which will have a MSRP of between $89 and $99. The 8300 GS is reported to have a MSRP of $69 to $79 and has no launch date specified.

Last but not least, enjoy this XFX 8600 (could be GT or Ultra) pic.

As what the picture showed, it seems like the mainstream 8000 series doesn't have an additional PCI-E 6pins power connector, does this mean we could use this card without worrying about upgrading our PSUs to 1000Watts or something...?

MrWizzard dont forget the 8600ultra Stream Processors will be clocked at 1ghz and up(64,000 float 1 op's per card minimum) so you wont actually get the same performance if you sli 2 of those babies but close to.(8900gtx has 128 Stream Proc's at 1.5ghz equals 192,000 float 1 op's you gonna need 3 card's to get the same performance or better)

Here is a question that needs to be asked.

Will the 8600 and 8300 series cards will be-able to run DX10 games at a steady 30 frames per second, while on a 1280 x 1024 resolution? (which is supported by 17" and 19" flat screen monitors)

I think that the 8600 probably would be able to, but the 8300 probably would not and would chug along around 12 - 15 FPS. Of course this is a guess based on other Nvidia graphics cards of previous generations. The The x300 cards in any nVidia generation never seemed to yield any desierable performance in 3D accelerated games for 3D-API generation. The x600 midrange cards however were able to get by pretty well, and of course the x800 cards and higher would yield the more desirable frames per second.

Once again Nvidia cuts the AMD/ATi high end off at the knees. ;)

My question would be; how does the 8600 Ultra compare to the 7900 GTX, which I already have? And I'm talking about in DX9 and DX10 games. Ultimately, I'd like to get into DX10 without blowing up my pocketbook and I don't want to loose any performance at the same time.
