Nvidia may trade technology with Intel in exchange for cooperation.

Remember the article I talked about in this news post? One of the things discussed in that article was the concern for Nvidia because of its fabless business structure. Looks like Nvidia may be courting Intel now for that very reason. DigiTimes has received word from some motherboard manufacturers that Nvidia is going to trade some graphics technology with Intel in exchange for more cooperation between the two companies. Intel is looking to expand their own graphics devision so this could turn out super bad for Nvidia if Intel manages to take this information and then turn their backs on Nvidia.

Eh... is that necessarily a good idea? I thought Intel and Nvidia were intending to stay relatively neutral with each other?

Intel running away from Nvidia, using Nvidia's technology is bad news indeed for the graphics company, how about the possibility of another merger...?

If I were nVidia I would be jumping into bed with intel. If intel enters the discrete graphics market, then it will be the two biggest chip makers in the world vs fabless nVidia. nVidia needs to either have strong ties to intel, or face huge losses of marketshare in a few years when intel enters the market.

I dont think that the GPU tech nvidia will give them will be of significance, Jensen Huang isn't stupid and knows that Intel is developing their own discrete gfx technologies, so he wouldn't allow for some really serious data to be given.

AMD-ATI vs. INTEL-NVIDIA will be like the "Clash of the Titans!!!", but what's really important is that the consumers are the ones benefited... competition is really nice in the sense, as long as its a healthy one...

Ekans, the big fight is going to be this one : AMD-ATI vs. INTEL, and with nVidia there are two possible ways to go: get eaten by Intel, or try to survive, but with a smaller market-share.

Wasn't there talk of Nvidia making their own CPUs? Problem with that is that it completely sets them off from a possible relation with Intel.
