Nvidia introduces us to a "new" video card.

Nvidia posted a press release today that aims to introduce us to the 7200 GS. I was not aware that introductions were in order here. The 7200 GS has been out there for some time now, as evidenced by the fact that we already have the page up for it and 5 cards listed. So the press release may be lying about the newness of this product, but it is an "entry level GPU" and it is "faster than the latest integrated graphics solutions".

Umm... ok? Shouldn't they be focusing on GeForce 8 instead of absolutely lame 7 cards?

There's still a lot of money in these really low end cards. ATi is doing the same thing with the X1050.

Obvisouly the low-end budget users make up the majority of their profit, but nVidia already have the 7300 GS and the 7100 GS. Why is the 7200 GS necessery?

Built for Microsoft Windows Vista, at $50, I think understand. If you check the stores, Ati dropped their prices a lot. Nvidia won the battle on high end cards, now Nvidia wants part of the pie on the low end cards.

No kidding. Most people who buy those cards anyway wouldn't notice the difference... unless they make it look cool, or something.
