Now you see HIS' 2900 XT page, now you don't.

The webmasters over at HIS apparently let their HD 2900 XT page loose a little too early back on Wednesday May 2nd. Luckly for ATi afficianadoes, the dudes over at techPowerUp! took screenshots of the page for posterity. I present these images for your perusal.

Well they show it @ 80nm which means is will be a power pig and a heater.... I would think after the delay they would just scrap the 80nm in favor of the 65nm.... Unless it is going to be another 3 month (or more) before they are ready.... Delays Delays....

If it's taken them this long to produce a literally butchered card, (only 512mb RAM, 80nm core, large power consumption, etc, etc) it'll take them another forever just to buff it up. =( Poor ATI... they had a good run.

GDDR3... Damn . I guess , if this card is going to be priced high , it may outperform a 8800GTS but the GTS will be cheaper and people would prefer that .

Its supposed to be priced at around $399 MSRP, which puts it at the same point as as the 640MB GTS.

Hello? McFly you in there.... The last gen ATI/AMD cards still own and hold their own against the newest Nvidia cards so I would not worry about ATI/AMD at this point. These cards are ahead of their time and will probably do much better in the newer games yet to be released.

This is obviously bullshit.
320 SP's? Come on! Who the heck is going to believe that?

There's no rule as to how these things must be counted. But if you think about it, it makes sense. 320 @ ~700MHz would be comparable to nVidia's 128 @ 1.35GHz. Then from there, nVidia is just more efficient because they're scalar.

Or it could be something completely different...who knows.

This card is probably going to disappoint a little. I'm sure it'll still haul, but I doubt it'll be worth all this wait. But, I'm sure ATI's not going anywhere. Nvidia is definitely getting carried away with their crown. Reminds one of Caesar, no?
