That's His Name so Don't Wear it Out!
I predict the launch to be on the Friday before Haloween (which would be Friday, Oct. 29).

Wow...and the 6800 series i'm assuming will be close to double that of the 5800?? I hope so, since I plan on building a new system when they come out. Can't wait.

Why am I not as impressed as I should be, based on all the hype? Sure, the numbers look better than the 57XX counterparts, but are they going to be priced at that level?

Oh I might say sooner I like Wednesday OCT 20th... the 10.9 Drivers went like the Sept 15th so they could start running competing card early, reviewers card are propably sceduled to arrive about OCT 4-6th, that provides 14 days to test and write articles. I think AMD has this release ticking like clock work why wait, and chance Nvidia time to re-postion, AMD want's a full Q4 for sales.

I say we'll see "Bart(s)" the XT will be performing above the current 5850 and may come with a $259 MSRP. While the "Pro" will be $200 and take on the bulk of GTX460 1Gb 256-bit, that are more generically clocked. This is where the real fight will be and AMD is not about to permit Nvidia to have it easy getting Christmas sales. Most of the remaining 5850's AIB generic's will drop to 180'ish and steal sale from the GTX460 768Mb.

wow

considering the stream processors were redesigned. that could very well make a run for beating a 5870

They must have widened the 128bit memory bus that was holding the 4770, the 5750 and 5770 back. Nice move...

ya they did. they talked about that in another topic/post. with the GPU showing up on CPU's now...they had to make mid-range/top-end cards worth it. cause all the low end stuff...just got out done by AMD fusion

you really think fusion will pack that much of a punch? :)

I'm even less impressed now that AMD renamed these cards. The 6750/6850 is basically just a 5830/5850 hybrid, and the 6770/6870 is a 58505870 hybrid. Either way, these still leave room for competition.
