Hybrid SLi is kinda like the car Hybrids...

The new SLi technology is called Hybrid because it features two distinct modes. There will be a Power Saving Mode and a Max Performance Mode. If the names of those modes are too subtle for you, you can read this article over at X-bit labs. This new form of SLi is apparently going to be great for laptop graphics performance. The first hybrid SLi systems will be available late this year.

Oooh... that's an interesting way to do SLi... of course I thought the power saving mode would be in a 2 card setup with both cards underclocking to the speed of 1 card, or less. =/

Finally, gpu makers start thinking about energy efficiency (with no real performance decrease either!)
