HD 3870 X2 pictures and features.

The intrepid [H]ard|Forum user known as sladesurfer has compiled many nice pictures and slides featuring the HD 3870 X2. He also had provided the links to the sources as well. Now we only need a few more details before we can get our 3870 X2 page up. Hurray!

I just found another thread that links to a video of a HD 3870 X2 machine playing Call of Duty 4 at 2560x1600 with AA. In post 5 you can find an undressed pic of the card and a 3DMark06 score at the default resolution.

This thing will be easily defeated by the 9800 GX2. I don't know what AMD will do next.

@Dincon Well that is because something is wrong with the [H]ard|Forum right now. It should be back soon.

Now that is some good stuff. If that is the 3dmark of one card by itself then 2 cards would probably be unbelieveable that is just ridiculous. That is almost the same as my 8800 GTX SLI setup in 3dmark06 at default. That is just crazy.
@anonymousD I have always gotten that 404 issue whenever trying to post here under my name.

www.extremepc.ca will have first systems with 2 of these puppies in CrossFireX mode (4 GPUs on Intel X-38 and X-48 setups. The cards will be be pre-overclocked as well on the bios... see more info on rage3d.com forums! I love ATI's stuff.. much better then two boards slapped together like Nvidia is doing.. :P

@Evil Incarnate
Hey thanks for the info, now they are working :).
This seems to be a nice card! I hope the game will run ok and that AA wont be much of a problem for it.

There wasn't any 3dMark06 score for this thing... there were however for all of the other cards .

looks good, i'm glad for AMD. about the odd graphs on the end of the page - notice that this test is run on 2048x1536 - and the reference 3d06 score for the 3870x2 is run on default 1280x1024 settings.

I am not a huge ATI fan, however my X1950 Pro AGP kicks much butt! This card is beautiful and that dual fan design is quite unique. One thing ATI has always done is make their card eye-candy. It would be cool if Nvidia put the extra time to make their cards look as good as ATI's.

Yep, I noticed the FPS drops in the video but I guess that's normal for Call of Duty 4 @ 2560x1600 with AA/AF enabled.

@anonymousD and Sunny:

I am going to ask Mike to look into this because I am pretty sure things are not working 100% correctly.
