GPUReview's GTX 460 overclocking roundup!

This is probably the largest overclocking roundup I have ever done. Lots of sites decided to put Nvidia's overclocking claims to the test. Then there is the additional data that comes as a result of there being two different models. The 1GB model is on top and the 768MB model is on the bottom. As you can see the 768MB version is just a little more overclockable than the 1GB model.

good god these things clock well. if you dont touch the vcore, then power figures dont jump up much. crazy little cards......curious about the 384 shader ones, if they ever come out.

Looks like any of these cards will do at least 800mhz! They seem to scale really well in SLI too.

I think if were gonna see a duel GPU card from Nvidia were gonna see a card with 2 full GF104 cores most likley running at 700 mhz. As 2 GTX 480's (470's for that matter) consume way more then 375watts! Thats the max 2 8pin connections out put. 2 GTX 460 1GB does out do a GTX 480, and at less cost.

Interrestingly most often exercise of OC these didn't seem in most reveiws to translate to actual FPS improvements for the jump in power. Seem to me the added HP isn't translateing into a better top speed through the trap at the end of the 1/4 mile. Sure some titles see a good jump like Aliens vs Predator Dx11, but still not any more playable at 28.5 (1920x1200) than it was at 22 FPS. Doesn't anyone know of a site that ran the the full list of titles with a card OC, I mean most test one title and say it translates to every game, it doesn't work that way.

From 22fps to 28fps is a 27% increase. It may still not be playable at that but it's a healthy difference and it's weird anyway that a card that nukes a GTX 285 in DX10 games should be crippled by a little tesselation that any XBOX360 would laugh at. Maybe there's something in the coding that hasn't been dialed in yet.
