I'd like to see what the temperature monitor says on the XFX 9800 GX2 (Overclocker's Club one) .

WOW dude thanks a lot for all your hard work
You know i never really got to say thanks for this cool website...i like hardware stuff and i guess anybody that plays games needs to understand graphics card is the do or die choice for ANY GAMER...forget quad or triple or double core cpu...you know i know maybe i will some HATERS out there but i really like ATI ...i think ATI loses in some areas but overall ATI is better bang for buck..i dont know about features or co-op deals with gaming companies but i chose to install 2 X 512mb 3870 ASUS babies in my mates computer then any Nvidia card..i used to LOVE NVidia..but i think i will never go back..i know im losing in some crappy way somewhere but if we dont support competition especially when competition does dx 10.1 support for anybody who knows anything about anything...and esp since the shop i can buy my video card from does a very very competitive price on ATI cards.
ot would be nice if AMD sat down with ATI properly and launched some nice spiffy cpu/gpu combo packages...day dreaming :(

LOL! OOOOOKK! Were you just venting? I am not a die hard fan of any side I just go with who has the best stuff at the time and who will give me the best experience and performance I am looking out for myself I could care less about the video card company! Yet there are lots of fanboy's out there!

Here my biggest issue with the GX2, you're investing in top tier technology that should future proof you out (I would hope 6 months), but you aren't getting Dx10.1 support. For the professional gamer that not a concern but for those that drop their cash it starts being a little unnerving. I believe hardware needs to drive the gaming software. Case in point Crysis, many gamer have yet hardware to make the most of it let alone in Dx10, so many customer just figure why buy it if I can't get acceptable experience. The writers of these games then figure out they don't get volume sales (= profit) so do you think any of them will write games that require that level of time and new technology? I can't say when Dx10.1 will really become the mainstream, but this I can say without hardware from Nvidia that supports it....It just going to be always DOA.

@Casecutter
Are you just venting too? True that they might not buy the game because of its hardcore requirements yet there Rep as a company is very known to produce very visually appealing games and they raise the bar. Ofcourse companies will continue to make games that require that level of time and technology it is dumb to think otherwise. What game do you think lots of reviewers use for there benchmarks ummmm crysis. Why because it is the most demanding. Crysis has set the bar for best graphics in a game. That is why others will try to compete and we will need advanced technology. Do you assume that because it is too demanding we will just keep making games at the level we are making them now? We need to advance. Not stay the same so your logic to me doesn't make sense.

Yes i am venting and we do need to advance BUY ATI PEOPLE...GET DX 10.1 ! BUY WINDOWS VISTA AS MUCH AS EVEN MY MAC USING GRANDMA HATES IT! but for godness sake can games manufacturers make games that DO NOT REQUIRE ONLY THE latest cpu/video card to COME CLOSE to running at FULL SPECS? THERE is a world outside dx 10.1 and aero BUT i just hope grand theft auto IV or FIFA 09 support DX 10.1 so all you little boys with NVIDA 9XXX cards can cry over your $2 spend YER GO ATI!

Problem is DX10.1 doesnt change anything, its just a marketing gimmick. Wikipedia it, it really offers absolutely nothing and isnt even 100% official yet.
