nVidia presents the 520, for when your 9300 GS just doesn't cut it anymore. Seriously, little bang for the buck.

Agreed, for 60 dollars you can get a GTS250 that will crush this thing.

If you care that much about power consumption then why not get THIS card? It's 29W...think of all the little animals it will save from extinction. What would they want you to buy?

You can play on a 14" CRT at 640x480 and get like 17FPS in Oregon Trail while you eat musli in your homemade habitat made from 100% recycled condoms! Hahahahaha

will this card outperform a geforce 7300le though? my rig is an HTPC setup that I occasionally play valve source engine games on. the 7300le runs the games fine on the small primary display, but when I run them on the 32" lcd secondary display via the DVI/HDMI cable I have to run them with the detail and shading turned down, and just cant get them to run at 1080 or even 720 without massive frame rate lag.

oh, forgot to mention the mobo/rest of rig, it's an ECS Geforce 6100 sm-m with 1g of ddr2, 2.9ghz AMD dual core PCU, and a cheapo SoundBlaste Audigy PCI sound card.

PSU is an OCZ Fatal1ty 750w.

I plan to upgrade to a completely different mobo in the future, nothing too special, but an ATI mobo that will take both dual and quad core AMD chipsets, and that is full ATX, with multiple PCI-e slots and DDR3, so this is temporary. someone got me this card for christmas without any input from me and I'm trying to determine if the GT520 is even an upgrade. it seems to outspec the 7300le, but I'm not sure if it's actually better or not...

I can play Battlefield 3 on med-high graphics with 15-25 Frames per seconds, i know its not the best but for the 45 dollars i spent on it i an very pleased with it.
