GeForce 9600 GT benchmark article.

There is a large 16 page article on the performance of the 9600 GT when compared to the 8800 GS, 8600 GTS, and a HD 3850. This new card is looking great. It often gets twice the frames per second as the 8600 GTS and it allows you to play at higher resolutions like 1920x1200 and above. Resolutions that the 8600 GTS can't even play the game at! The 9600 GT is also outperforming the 8800 GS and HD 3850 in just about every game. Go check it out!

Does a superclocked 8800 GT (650/950 clocks) still beat it?

@wyz135 You said "scores" so I am guessing you are talking about the 3DMark06 scores. Let me tell you this, 3DMark tests can be fun to run if you want to impress your friends with a number that does not necessarily correlate to good gaming performance. Use 3DMark to make sure your card is working properly, use it to impress others, but don't use it to figure out which cards are better than others. For that you must look at game benchmarks.

@Radiator It's a Google translation of the Chinese site. Do you only see question marks or are there just some?

@pk7 An 8800 GT, superclocked or not, should still beat this card by a decent margin.

I'm actually planning to get a new card to replace my 8600gt (lol) in March, so this really has me pondering on what I should get. It comes out on the 14th of Feburary according to the review, so I'm assuming we'll get more benchmarks soon.

Also, I guess they should have used a HD3850 512MB to really even it out. For around the same price listed in the article ($169) for a 9600GT you could probably also get the HD3850 512MB.

stick with the 512 gt maite. bang per buck u cant beat it. well maybe this one if priced right but itll be limited. no curent gen cards can run the games that are coming out/came out shortly ago at good enough settings, well.

Does it make sense for 64 SP's to beat 96?

8600GT equals to next generation 9600GT, so i guess the 8800GT will be equal to 9800GT, I will wait for the 9800GT

@AigledeFeu If you are talking about performance, you are very very wrong. In the benchmarks the 9600 GT gets twice as many frames per second as the 8600 GTS AND the 8600 GTS is faster than the 8600 GT. So the 9600 GT is much much faster than the 8600 GT. It is the midrange part for the 9,000 series though, just like the 8600 GT was for the 8,000 series.
