GeForce 8800 GTX performance numbers.

DailyTech has some performance numbers on the 8800 GTX for us. They even compared it to the X1950 XTX. How does a 92% increase in frame rate over the X1950 XTX sound to you?

Isn't that like comparing the ATi R600 to the Nvidia GeForce 7950GX2? It's not really fair if you think about it. Just because Nvidia have double the amount of boffins working in their laboratories to produce a graphics card before ATi release there next card, tut tut. Well lets hope at the very least it has the renown high image quality of ATi graphic cards.

They compared a new card to the current fastest card to show how fast it is. Implying anything here is "unfair" is just fanboyism.

Whenever the stats are confirmed on some official level, and when I have the database setup to handle the specs, I'll post em.

8800 GTX is abt as good as 2 X1950XTXs. So its SLI on one card just like the 7950 GX2 if ur thinking of what to buy this christman - X1950XT in Crossfire or G80.

499$ is what i heard. Since u cannot simply overclock the 8800 GTS and get the GTX's performance, i think the extra 100$ is worth it. Especially since an X1900XT still costs 600$ where i live.. and i have friends in the US who come to visit ;-)

600$ Are you insane where you live in Canada?

Currently Israel. I'm sure its not the worst country to buy PC Hardware in. It's wierd, because we have one of the most developed and successfull "High-Tech" industries in the world. You'll understand now why i call the US the "land of free hardware".

A guy in NVNEWS bought the 8800 GTX at his local FRY's when they made the horrible mistake of putting the G80 Sku's up on the shelf.... haha. NVIDIA got really pissed and so did EVGA who the cards were from, made Mike C from NVNEWS forums take down all the pictures because of supposed NDA (non disclosure agreements) that NVNEWS forums has..... Well, whatever cat's out of the bag, guy ran some benchmarks and it looks very good indeed. Unfortunately he is running it with an AMD 4000 single core GPU so his 3dMark 06 scores really sucked. If your interested he paid $639.00 for it plus tax at FRY's. So I guess they are going to be over the $599 MSRP for now.

I would think Croatia would be a tough place to buy PC hardware. ;)
In any event, the 8800GTX is longer than many ATX motherboards! :0 Potential buyers take note of the size of their computer case!
