Note that the 7600GS comes in two varieties, some have passive heatsinks, some have fans. The noise level rating refers to the version with the fan.

I have an evga gs with fan, and apparently evga had problems with them, the dvi didn't work. Evga has put out a bios fix, visit their support website. As a result of the fix the speeds are dropped from 550/425 to the standard 400/400, but the card still handles the 550/425 quite superbly. 3dmark06 of 2408 with Athlon 3200 and 2g ram.

Both the DDR2 & DDR3 models from Galaxy feature a red easy to remove jumper that turns the buzzer of & on. The buzzer sounds when the GPU becomes too hot. The DDR3 model has a blue jumper that lets you switch between the card's two bios' (see pg 3 of the Guru3D review). The yellow jumper is for future functionality with a technology called "Galaxy Smart Panel" which will be debuted at Computex. ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE! The card reviewed at Guru3D has a Zalman fan and ramsinks, the card linked at Galaxy's site has a similar fan design but no ramsinks. Both cards have all three jumpers though. The boxes are different as well.

Fantastic "budget" GPU and perfect for HTPC. Anywhere from slightly to much faster than a 6600GT. Great quiet passive Heatsink and 256MB. These are going for $99 after rebate.
For Budget gaming I can't imagine why you would buy anything else. This is the Geforce 4200 all over again but cheaper.

actually i have the 512mb version of the asus geforce 7600 gs and i play battlefield 2 on the highest settings with no problems at all. Even with a slow memory clock speed, somehow this card pulls it off. BUT, it might just be my fast processor.

So, I bought the 6600gt OC w/128 ram and it was okay. Then I took it back and bought a 7300gs 256 ram and that SMOKED the 6600gt OC (must have been because of the ram difference.) Then I took that back and bought a 7900GT CO and that had too much power for my CPU to take advantage of (AMD 3200 w/ 1.5gig ram.) Then I took that back and bought a 7600gs and it works great! Playing doom w/ everything on 1024/768 (no AA) and it runs smooth and fast! I am very happy! Played some F.E.A.R. and was happy considering the 6600gt OC couldn't play it at a decent rate.

Is it possible to validate clock speed on Gibabyte GV-NX76G256D-ZL-RH (Zalman Cooler)? On Taiwan e-tail sites, I have seen it listed at 450/core and 800/memory. No clocks listed on Gigabyte web site (bad idea!)

All I know about the clocks is what they have on their site...so I don't know much. I didn't see a "Turbo-Force" sticker on the box, or on the webpage, so that suggests that it's just standard clocks. But they do usually overclock with that zalman cooler. Anybody have one of these and can check for us?

Rumors, and myself, were apparently wrong. It seems there won't be a 7650GS after all. Instead, the 80 nm version of the G73 chip is being phased in the 7600GS and 7600GT models. The new ASUS 7600GS TOP (600/700) uses the 80nm chip.

Actually, I have the GF 7650 GS (pre-built PC). Only difference performance-wise is that the core is clocked at 450mhz. Does not seem to be a good overclocker unfortunately. Idle temp is 55-60C, during gameplay up to 75C (passive cooling). The rest of my components have an avg temp of 35C. Supports HDCP and has 265mB GDDR3 memory.

Obviously, it has 256mB. Also, my 3DMark 06 Score was 2407 using Xtreme-G Drivers, Quality setting.

What a great card! I have the Asus 7600GS 256MB SILENT PCI-E model and out of the box I overclocked it to 500core/1000memory on a passive heatsinck. That puts it uop to GT performance without a fan. You cant beat that!!

got this card on an HP desktop I have had for 3 years and now can run flight sim X on full resolution. so it is a pretty good card.
