GeCube, HIS & Sapphire rock dual HD 2600 XT cards at Computex!

Behold the magic of two HD 2600 XT video cards smashed together to form one dual slot video card! Bit-tech has the scoop on the offering from Sapphire and Hexus has the lowdown on the dualies from GeCube and HIS . These cards only have one main PCB instead of two like the 7950 GX2. There is a smaller PCB at the back of the card that allows the existence of 4 DVI ports for the GeCube and Sapphire cards.

Bit-tech's picture of the Sapphire dual HD 2600 XT.

Hexus' picture of the GeCube dual HD 2600 XT.

Oh here we go... this'll just bring more trouble for the people like me who frequent hardware forums and people think that memory = the greatest thing ever invented and that even some old school ISA 8 bit card with 1gb of onboard memory will own 8xSLI 8800 Ultras overclocked to the max. *sigh* Couldn't do this with a decent card, now could they?

remmeber the dual 6800? it was the top card they played with last time. msi's approach is interesting, altough i think the dual cores on a pcb is more 'ok' for these times.
im still waiting for when well take a pcb and stick stuff in like memory, gpu, etc liek we do with motherboards. msi's getting a step closer to that :)
thanks

So, this is just like the X1950 Pro Dual? Should have the same performance if so.

Don't know if being cluttered will affect its performance. However, I have seen some ATI cards that look as if they always have a kind of plastic "bandage" over most of the whole card. Don't know if it's really plastic or not (in the HD2900 it definitely looks like plastic) but, IMHO, it can't be good to keep the card cool. Anyway, I have never owned an ATI card, so I could be totally wrong.
