G92-based 8800 GTS 512 Full Review At TweakTown!

A little birdy sent the guys over at TweakTown a shiny new 8800 GTS 512, a full two weeks before the card is to be officially announced. So naturally they did what any good enthusiast site would do, they benchmarked the hell out of it and posted a 17 page review! Go get a look before nVidia makes them take it down!

No shocks here. Just a smidgen better than the GT, handy about the same as a GTX at higher resolutions.

However, I usually run at 1280x1024, so I'm still quite pleased that I got a GT for $250. No kicking myself as of yet!

wth is up with power consumption? from the gt reviews i was expecting say 10-15 watts more, not `50 lol

no its not just an overclocked gt its has 120 shaders and 64 texure and not sure about the rasters

Think out why would they make a 8800gts just to change the clocks i dont think so, think about it like the company EVGA as a 8800gt clocked at 700core/1000mem/1.75shader, omg it would be faster than the 8800gts no so think about it guys

So in crysis this card is about the same as an 8800 GTX. The ultra is still a little bit better but not by much according to the page 18 on the review.

If it is that bad I would go another route about cooling

LOL indeed, but the GTX will be more expansive than the GTS.
