(side note: we should totally have a forum for this... as it's rather hard to game without a GPU... and... duh
)So, recently, I have been playing a whole lot of Mass Effect for the PC; it is, without a doubt, the best original IP for RPGs that has come along in ages, and, really, it might be one of the best OIPs in any genre over the last two console-generations. Such wonderful character development, story development, and world environment. My only main complaint is the damned UE3 and it's fundamental lack of AA. Sure, it somewhat supports it, but not a whole lot, and not well. I can deal with delayed texture mapping (another reportedly common problem with UE3) and other minor things, but no real support for AA? Not even driver-level AA? Bad! Death to jagged edges! Anyway, discuss what you're playing (way too much of) right now. Oh, and for relevant reference: http://www.xfire.com/profile/aliquidparadigm

I've been playing a whole lot of Hellgate : London lately... and during my through with one of my characters , I tried max settings... it worked exactly the same as medium settings ... and looked a whole lot better .
Thinking of acquiring a game called Test Drive Unlimited... just to drive a Bugatti Veyron ( if the game has it ofcourse ) . But yep... a games section would be logical .

Hey there we go a gaming thread. I have looked at that Mass Effect game and the graphics look really great and it looks like an awesome game. Its on my games to buy list. Oh man lack of AA kinda sucks. I hate Jaggies.
Right now I am still into Battlefield 2142 being that I know lots of people playing it still. But I also do some competition matches too. I used to play this game with just the standard 4x AA you could enable in the game. But since then I went in to the Nvidia Control Panel and told it to enhance my BF2142 game AA with 16xAA So there are really no jaggies in this game anymore. I have not seen it so clear before its awesome. Among that I play lots of other RTS and FPS games on the PC. Here is my profile http://www.xfire.com/profile/beastlykilla/

Am I the only person here who doesn't mind jaggies ? Monitor's native resolution = enough for me . Oh well , if I do get a new PC in the fall , I guess I'll be running most games at 4xAA anyway :P .

ME is wonderful, even if you had to turn the settings down to nothing. The game is simply that good. I beat the poop out of it on 360, and I bought it for PC (borrowed the xbox version) and am playing it again when I get the time. I'm enhancing the FSAA settings in the nvidia cpl, and the game looks gorgeous.
It looks fantastic without FSAA too. But yes, I hate edges. Just had some fun with Portal last weekend--GlaDOS is hilarious. "Remember that time when you were on the ledge over the fire, and I was like... and then we pretended to murder you...that was great..." I nearly pissed myself. |

RPG = cool, MMORPG = sad. (M)MOFPS I can totally dig, though.

I'm with paradigm on that one, but to each his own. I've got friends who do nothing BUT play WOW. It never caught my attention.

Lets just say I work 10 hours a day 5-6 days a week, and when I have day off then I go do something with friends, but most of time I'm wokring, I'm to exhastued to do anything. So i just pour myself a beer, and start to play a vid game, and an MMORPG never fails to entertain me.
