My advice to you is get a Radeon HD3870 X2, if you really hate ATi so much that you won't even touch a ATi card, get a GeForce 8800GTS 512MB GDDR3

Go for the 8800 GT for that price range. They will have the most performance gain. They also overclock pretty nice just remember you gotta boost the fan speed. For some reason all the 8800 GT cards seem to have there fan speeds on low.

Ha ha ha! He does always suggest that card eventhough they have a smaller price range.

Man i feel for you. you have 939 pin Cpu, which is not really able to be upgraded. If you had an am2 cpu, I wouldve said to get a 780G Motherboard for $90 and grab a 3870 card off newegg for $160, cuz with Hybrid Crossfire its like have 2 VC's (just built a system with a tricore phenom 8750, Asus 780G MB, and a single ATI 3870 card, and it is phenomenal)
To be honest if i were you, I would wait till I was ready to build a completely new system before I made any Video card purchases, cuz ATI and Nvidia are releasing new cards soon and the 4870 should be right at $250 spankin new. But thats my humble opinion.
