I am the most metal motherf* here. I seriously haven't removed Vital Remains' "Icons of Evil" from my car's CD player since the day it was released.

That was April 3, 2007.

I also spend a lot of time listening to Daylight Dies, Amon Amarth, Swallow the Sun, Bloodbath, Opeth, old In Flames, Decapitated, Soilwork, Fear Factory, Machine Head... even Metallica...

And, for variety, I dig various forms of prog; Green Carnation, Neal Morse, Spock's Beard, Porcupine Tree, Tool, The Flower Kings, Pain of Salvation, The Tangent...

Post rock is also good. Only two real artists stick out there, the almighty Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Explosions in the Sky. Do Make Say Think are, actually, a close 3rd. Mogwai a distant 4th.

Music used to be my life... damned getting old and having to quit my band. >.<

Amon Amarth cover I did just for fun. Actually, that's more like karaoke than a cover.

Pink Floyd is great ... I'd have their discography , if it didn't take 4 GB of HD space ( I don't have that much free space on my music HD ) .

Pink Floyd, The Police, Peter Gabriel, Linkin Park, Steve Jablonsky (wyz, you should check him out--The Island OST and Transformers OST are particularly good), James Newton-Howard, 311, Anberlin, Claude Debussy, Michael Kamen, The Benjamin Gate, Blink 182/Boxcar Racer, Jim Brickman, Burlap to Cashmere, Cake, The Coasters, Journey, Crystal Method, Dario Marianelli, Delerium, Switchfoot---I don't know where to start. Got about 106 GB on my storage drive--26k songs, and I listen to most of it in any given year. Rare that music isn't playing around here.

Country when I drink with old friends, Techno when I drive, Soundtracks when I work/work out (Halo 1,2,3 are great for that), Rock/Alternative when I feel like it, 80s rock/classic rock when I'm on long trips, slow/Jazz when it's time to treat the ole lady right--really, the only thing I never listen to is Rap.

Oh--I play the guitar. Currently I own a 1979 Ovation that sounds and smells like heaven, and a 2004 Taylor SE Rosewood Dreadnaught that plays itself. I've got a Fender 12 string and a blue Strat, but I rarely play those.

On occaision I play the piano (Kawai), and when I want to learn something new I play my violin (full size). I suck at the violin though, so it pains me to hear myself play it.

Lately I've been listening to R&B and some rock. Island tunes are what I listen to, as I play the ukulele.

I wish I could connect a ukulele to an amp and a distortion box ... that would sound really cool I'll bet . I went to a concert a month or so ago , where a member of the band played the violin through distortion .
