Sound Quality Bad due to Hard Disk?

When I tried to play music through Windows Media Player, the sound quality sux, it has many gaps in between when the music is playing. As you can see, I am using a 4GB Hard Disk with only around 5000+ RPM which means the transfer rate is far from slow. So is it because of my Sound Card or the Hard Disk which cause this problem?

Might be just your speakers .

my speakers are working perfectly fine, I guess is my hard disk, because I then realise the Transfer Rate is just far from slow, even loading windows take 1-2min

It just might be that your PC sucks or something ( I don't know your PC specifications ) .
Is it an external HD ?

it's a P-ATA, my 160GB has spoilt and I am temporary using a 4GB one, as you can see, old Hard Disk has a very little RPM , I am saving up for a 320GB S-ATA Hard Disk

Sounds like HDD or just lousy specs. (at least that's easy to check) It could just be that the 4gig hdd is fried. Even a 5600rpm HDD shouldn't take a couple of minutes to load XP. Maybe if you were running 2000/xp with malware problems...

I had this exact problem (crackles and pops in the music right?) and it took me months to figure it out. First I thought it was the connections IN my computer, nope. Then I thought hard drive, nope. Then I thought bad drivers, nope.

I found the solution, go to your sound options and DISABLE, or bring the slider all the way to zero on your "Hardware Acceleration" for your sound. Turn off Hardward Accelerated sound. When I did this the pops and clicks were gone for good.

If it fixes it it would imply a bad sound card. Is it only media player? try something like winamp.
