Yeah a lot of folk think that the old stalwart is still the best/only option. When you factor power/performance a 5670 start's to get some legs.

Well the question is do you intend to gaming with the more modern titles? If not and just web-browsing, email or video play-back like from the internet you sure don’t need a 7900GTX. Just the power...

Well a 5670 draws about 20W more than the 4670 at idle, but the average, peak, and max is only slightly more (3-5W).

Now, many folk where working 4670's on quality 300W OEM boxes and still had room...

Here's a review from the other day of a PowerColor 5770 OC that was $135 -AR $20. At 1920x1200 it's was 1% better than the GTX260. Then don't disregard the power savings if you are one to leave the...

Yea, I don't see you really getting advantages of a GPU of any more than an GTS250 1Gb or 5770 as the P4 would be the bottle-neck after that. Even those might be too much performance for a 3.2Ghz....

Yea, I'd say that OCZ 750W should run a 3870X2 along with all your other stuff and not be taxed. The 3870X2 is shown it can pull a max of 225W at least here a GPUReview, although normally averaging...

Didn't clarify that all that well... that would be 9300GS, 9500GS, and 9600GS. I probably shouldn't have said it as *don't* compete, but rather "will" compete with... as neither are for gaming and...
