The 9800GT is actually faster, but the 8800GTS 640MB is... well its the legendary G80 man.

But yeah, the 9800GT will outperform due to the extra shaders and the more streamlined Texture mapping...

you got it exactly right. Thats an all in one SLI package. One card gets 8 pci-e lanes, the other gets the other 8 availble ones.

When I say "core OC" I mean the GPU's own clock speed, both shader clock and "core" clock. I'm not referring to the CPU.

Some decent air aftermarket cooling will get you considerably better temps....

Ok I have complaints and agreeances with your logic...

yes, there isn't too many ROPS or TMUs but they're hella clocked. 800Mhz core? Thats decent. The texture mapping power is ok, for best results...
