ok guys heres my dilemma. im pretty much broke and need a new graphics card but want to spend under $100. i have compaq AMD 3800+ 2.4GHZ with 3gigs of ram and only a 300watt power supply i dont plan on upgrading soon.. my current card is an ati visiontek x1300 pro that came factory overclocked. i just want a better card that can run shaders and has more stream processors so i can play more recent games w/o dumbing down the graphics to get an ok frame rate. i got dizzy looking at the hundreds of graphics cards so i decided to leave it to the experts. i appreciate the help. thx guys.

If you can wait for a month, the HD4750/4770 from ATi will be coming in May. If not, go for either the HD4670 or the 9600GT

I'd stick to the hd4670 for an unknown 300w PSU. It doesn't require any extra power connectors, eats very little power for it's performance, does pretty in price/performance, and does just fine in almost every game currently out there at moderate-high settings.

The 9600gt would perform a fair bit better for it's price, but it also eats a fair bit more power.
