I have a dell Inspiron 530 with the following specs:
q6600 @ 2.4 GHz , 4Gb DDR2 Ram @667MHz, 1x500GB HDD, 1x 16xdvd writer,
19" Dell Widescreen LCD @ 1440x900, geforce 8300GS(Factory piece)
Now i wish to install a HD4670 on my pc. Is it good for 1440x900 res and i have factory psu of 350W.
I have 8300GS on PCiex16 slot so other is empty. Is it good for me to go to Ati or should i change my pSu and go for 9600Gt on a crappy 450W psu as my budget is only Rs.5000/- ~ 95USD.
Please tell me what to do

I'm not even sure if that 350W PSU would work , Dell always puts the bare minimum PSUs in their machines . At 1440x900 it's quite a good card , though .

It's a gamble , mate . I'm not sure if it will work with the 350W PSU , but it CAN work with it... I'm just not sure if it will . A 450W PSU ( a good quality one I hope , if a nameless crappy PSU , then it's basically just as good as a 350W PSU ) + 9600 GT would be a safe bet , plus the 9600 GT is faster .

I've got hd4670,cpu 5200+ works normally with 300w psu believe me and it's very good at gaming.;)
9600gt is better but if you are not a gamer buy 4670,it's better at movies
If you've not got the psu then stick with the 4670, the performance difference isn't that huge. It does just fine in most games out there and will likely do just fine for a while to come.

the 4670 doesn't use very much power at all
actually i just checked the 4670 and the 9600 gt
use basically the same amount of max power (70 watts)
just the 4670 uses less at idle
however the 4670 just runs off the motherboard power
no external adapter needed
