I have an HP Pavillion a350n. I just bought a new Acer 24" monitor that will do 1920 x 1080. It has a VGA, DVI-D and HDMI connection.

I need a video card that will allow me to use the HDMI connection on the new monitor and the VGA connection on my old monitor.

No complicated gaming - mostly spreadsheets and movies.

Any recommendations???

well from what i'm reading

your HP uses a AGP slot for the video card

that limits your choices rather quickly
i also don't know the amount of power your power supply puts out
i couldn't find that

until i know how much it can provide i can't make any recommendations
without concern that the power supply will be able to handle it

You have a couple of choices:

The hd3450 is a basic hdmi capable card which has an AGP version. $50:

The hd3650 is a fair AGP card with hdmi support. $78:

It sounds like for your purposes the 3450 should do just fine, and without knowing about your PSU I would probably choose it for an HP system.

i found out that your PSU is 250 watt's

if you're not going to be gaming
then go with the 3650 you should be fine

it'll have a bit more power for that resolution and doing work

The HD 3650 might not work with a 250W PSU ... it's basically the bare minimum your system requires to run as it is . Well , it MIGHT run but I'm not sure .
