guess we need a bit of help here ourselves
i look at that screen shot and don't notice anything wrong....
since i don't play WOW i have no idea what it should or shouldn't look
like when correct
I'm guessing that those repeated shield textures and the tiled blue circles with diamonds are wrong, but I don't play WoW either.
hmm... some answers to a few questions should help us out.
Did you make any changes to your system recently?
Do you know how to check the temperature of the graphics card's core?
Did you update your drivers before this started happening?
Are you seeing the problem in any other games?

ya i guess that seems weird now that you pointed it out
usually overheating you get rainbow color effects
(i've had a few cards do the over heat trick in my life)
like -RK said, did you update your drivers recently ?

here is some sysinfo to give you the general idea of the pc thanks for telling me what info you need to help me with this that is the biggest help
AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core Processor 4200+
2.21 GHz, 960 MB of RAM
if you need more info please include where I can find it
If you updated the drivers right before this started happening then I would try uninstalling the updated video drivers then reinstalling the old ones.
Hmm, if you have some other directX game laying around it would be helpful if you could test it.

i would have to agree
remove your drivers and download an older version
just an fyi, there probably isn't much of a point of you
getting newer drivers any more, your card is 2 generations old
most driver updates now will be for the newer cards
i have a nvidia card before, went through a problem like this
before

pick out which OS and your card
you'll have to go one step at a time, or go back like to the october
driver release

I agree, I think you should go back to the October 2008 driver (178)
Sorry man, I didn't get your message.
Depending on your driver version you should be able to check your temps with forceware Coolbits: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=815
Download and double click on the .reg file. After doing this you should see a couple of extra tabs on the Nvidia control panel (usually accessed by right clicking on the desktop), one of them will have your temperatures on it.
OR You can check your temperatures with Rivatuner: http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner
Under the "main" tab there should be two sections, "Target Adapter" and "Driver Settings" You want target adapter. Click on the little button next to customize and on the pop up menu select hardware monitoring.
BOTH OF THESE UTILITIES ARE OVERCLOCKING UTILITIES. DON'T SCREW WITH SLIDER BARS UNLESS YOU'RE SURE WHAT THEY'RE DOING. Luckily they're pretty self-explanatory so it shouldn't be a problem.
