I could buy two 7950 GX2s (one looking pretty new in its box, one without a box) for ... well, for whatever I offer.

I was poking around a friends comp room and found them; he says he'll sell them to me if I want them and didn't mention a price.

I'm still using my 8800 Ultra so I'm assuming even sli'd 7950 GX2s wouldn't be worth it for me. I guess I could be wrong, though.

Should I buy them and sell them on ebay or something? If so what should I offer him?

Is there any market for 7950 GX2s anymore (at any price)?

I have to admit - it was kind of cool holding two of those things in my hands and thinking quad-sli. Too bad it's not 2006.

Quad SLi is fairly inefficient , especially with older cards , like the 7950 GX2 .
You could eBay them , but don't count on selling them with ease .

sadly enough your 8800 ultra is about 50% faster than a single 7950 gx2

and as rad said, 4x sli isn't all that is cracked up to be

you can try them out just to see and say you did it
but i'm thinking performance wise your 8800 ultra can hold its own
and power wise...those 7950 gx2's will chew that up

The whole idea of quad sli is cool in a way but getting them to sell was the more realistic option.

Maybe he'll just give them to me; he got them for free from a guy he works with anyway and he's never going to use them.

I have a spare copy of XP lying around somewhere. Maybe I could piece together a system as a museum piece.

"look kids. this is what quad sli first looked like"
