LOW BM scores help!!??

Hi all. I need some help and some advice. I recently upgraded my video card and ran 3dmark06 just to see if my scores should be in the same ball park as other scores. I bought a Asus 9600GT 512 clocked at 700core/2000Memeory and scored a dismal 6200 marks. Every other score I see is hovering around the 10k mark easy. I'm running a single core CPU@3.4Ghz. Is my CPU killing my score that bad? Would a dual core CPU increase my performance?

3dmark06 is in fact a CPUmark ( the CPU makes a MASSIVE difference in it ) .
So answer to your question - yes , that CPU is the culprit ... and it also is a bottleneck in other games .

ya a lot of the score comes from the CPU

so take your results with a grain of salt
