suggest me which card should i buy or jz stick to the old one for now until the price drop again and new card available.. currently im using HD2600 pro sonic 256mb ddr3.. in my mind 3850 should be the right card but after read the review that 2600XT better and 3850 is jz an upgrade from 2600pro,so i consider the 3870,a long target for me.. but how about the 4850? it is an upgarde from 3850? if it is, so the 3870>4850? maybe the 8800 or 9600 but im not really into nvidia.. have try once the 8600 and its suck,so decide to sell it and buy my current card.. i need the opinion for value and performance,so still need the opinion 3850 or 3870 or 4850,the price diff isnt to much for 3870 but too much for 4850 but 4850 more cheaper than any 8800.. im jz a mid-range person but my system so poor,jz a low end system.. jz using

P4 Presscot 3.06 Ghz HT - planning to get E7200 soon
Gigabyte G31 mobo - so pricey once but regret coz only 2 month the price drop.. can get the P35 mobo with its price now.. suck.. wana change to P35 very soon
4GB patriot 667 DDR2 ram
Huntkey 550w PSU

so right now,i have option but im not in hurry to make step
1.stick to current card
2.buy 3870 or 4850
3.change to 9600gtx

which one better? 9600gtx or 3870?

i didnt see the 9600gtx listed, but i did see the 9600gso and 3870 relatively close to each other in the benchmark.

between the 8800gt and the 4850, the 4850 looks to outperform it by a decent amount.

so the 8800 r better than 4850? thats mean the 3870 r better than 4850 right? coz wut i understand (ppl told me) that the 3870 and 8800 made to kill :) each other right?

*side question, can tell me wut mean GS,GT,GSO,GTS,GTX? wut i knoe is any TOP is OC version by Asus,GTX support tri-SLI,and the rest GS,GT,GSO,GTS? which one is more powerfull than

The HD 3850 is a lot better , than a HD 2600 XT , the HD 4850 is about equal to the 9800 GTX+ and is faster , than any other 8800 or 9800 card (save for the 8800 Ultra and the 9800 GX2 ) .
Most definitely get the HD 4850 , although your current CPU will be a bottleneck , so upgrade it as soon as you can ... but don't get a E7200 , get an E8400 and ramp it up to 3.6 Ghz .

4850=9800gtx? so the 9800gtx=GTX260? the dealer told me that 4850 vs GTX260 and the 4870vsGTX280.. get wut i mean? it is true?

if 4850=9800gtx then its more valuable to get the 4850 coz its cost only half a price of 9800gtx

about the CPU,i read some review from PC-Gamer magazine that the E7200 got 80% overall performance of E8400 except for the L2 cache but almost 50% cheaper than E8400,it is true? jz curious here,a question, did the performance or anything related to CPU or GPU not boost up if i take the E7200 using my current mobo G31?

Your dealer is an idiot .
The HD 4850 is slower , than the GTX260 and is much cheaper , it's meant to compete with the 9800 GTX ... and it's faster than the 9800 GTX , however it is equal to the 9800 GTX+ ( 55nm 9800 GTX with higher default clock speeds ) .
The HD 4870 is a bit faster than the GTX260 , and it's meant to compete with the GTX260 . The HD 4870 X2 is meant to compete with the GTX280 , and it's about 30% faster , than the GTX280 , dependant on the application .

oOoo.. got it now.. more value to get the 4850 than 3870 or any other geforce card if its like that.. thanx dude

the price r almost the same for 3870,9600 and 4850.. in my place the price of 4870<9800<GTX260 and the 4870X2<GTX280

have do the servay
9600GT OC 512 ddr3=rm599
4850 512 ddr4=rm659
8800GTX 512 ddr3=rm900
9800gtx 512 ddr3=rm1300
4870 512 ddr5=rm945
9800GX2 512 ddr3=rm1900
GTX260 898mb ddr3=rm1300
4870X2 2GB ddr5=rm1800
GTX280 1GB ddr3=rm2200

quite unreasonable.. live in malaysia.. 1usd=rm3.4 sumthin

it really also depends on what games you play and will be playing IMO. for instance the 8800gt i have seen as low as $120 with rebates. not bad for the capability of the card and will play almost all games in decent settings.

I'd still suggest a HD 4870 over the 8800 GT , it's simply a faster card , or even a HD 4850 , which is faster than the 8800 GT aswell .
And as far as I know there isn't a 8800 GTX with 512MB on this planet .

oh i agree this 4870 is amazing.

i was just meaning by price. basically what he can afford. cause if he can afford it the 4870 is a great choice.

4870 then is my vote. it will cost you now but it is a card that should last for awhile. it can be CCC overclock right off the bat to 790/1100 and that improves it's performance by a decent amount.

and the fan fix is easy to do and run the fan at 50% and 42c idle and just over 50c at load with stock fan. no real need to upgrade for a cooling unit.

No card will run all the games that will come out in the next 3-4 years at good settings at your monitor's native resolution ( I'm guessing you are using a 22" one ) .
But for the next let's say 2 years , it'll be great .
