It's really quite fun to play around with.

Also nVidia has allowed us to run an old card as a dedicated physics processor!! Sort of a PhysX-SLI

Really cool stuff

Hmmm...so, how does this work in gameplay? I have dual 8800GTs, but the options for hardware enabled physics in the control panel are greyed out.

It works in just a few games , like UT3 .
Do you have the newest drivers for nVidia ?

You need the newest beta drivers, then you need the PhyX 8.07.18 driver also. The PhysX is not included all the way into the regular driver.

Will it work on 9600 GSO? yea.... it's not a monster card like many of u have :( life in poor countries..... /sigh

It'll work on any card , but in real world apps , it's not much use , exept for UT3 and a couple of other games .

And I have an even worse card , mate .

hmm but what OS are u using? and what about that DX 10 for WinXP? :> think I could see some improvements(quality or speed) on UT3 with physx driver and DX 10 hack?

well it dont matter if your using vista or xp, and idk about the directx 10 hack for xp its almost impossible, i read up on it and doest look easy at all, and idk it would be about the same speed and quaility just with physX

Well, I have .19 drivers and no dice so far. Options in the PhysX control panel are still grayed out.

Any idea why?

What about performance? surely Physx enabled should have some impact on GPU right? will it decrease the framerate for more than let's say 30% ? :(

Do you have the beta video drivers in addition to the PhysX ones too?

Swed: In a PhyX enabled game if you are using CPU PhysX and you switch to GPU PhysX you will get a gain of about 60% in FPS. If the game isn't PhysX enabled, then you dont have to use it and all the GPU resources go to graphics again.

So at the end of it, all this does is increase FPS and eye-candy levels for games that actually use it.

Anyone know of Vista 64bit beta drivers? Can't use the ones Andrewgto posted.

Nevermind, I found it on the site. I'll repost when I find out whether or not it works.

Physics don't hog up a lot of resources , so if a GPU with let's say 240 shader processors (aka. a GTX280) uses PhysX drivers , maybe 10-20 of those will be used for calculating physics (if not less... I'm not sure on exact numbers).
