So,
I have recently built my new rig (March 08)
Coolermaster Cosmos Case
PCPC Silencer 750W PSU
4gb Patriot Extreme DDR2
EVGA 780i Mobo
XFX 8800 GTX
2x Seagate 500gb HD's
Samsung DVD Burner
Win XP

It had been running like a dream, kickin but with FPS in all my game apps etcetera
Then a few days ago I log into steam to play CSS and FREEZE / Video Corruption
So I log out and reboot and try again
Same problem
Over the next few hours I get hangs, BSOD's and the occasional driver error message when I try to run a 3d app ( CSS, Rainbow six, COD4, 3d Mark 05 and 06)
Anyways
I have uninstall ed, cleaned and re-installed drivers
rolled back drivers, restored to a previous check point in XP
Checked all connections
Checked the PSU voltages ( All good)
Installed the new PO5 bios
Run anti virus etcetera etcetera

Anyways, my question is twofold

If the card is at fault could I still be able to run just 2d apps ( which I can obviously because I am here) and just have problems with 3d apps and two, is there a software way to test the card
I have support questions in to XFX but they are not getting back to me very quickly and I really am uncomfortable about buying a new card just to see if the old card has bitten the dust
