Well, I just bought a P5K-PRO and a Radeon HD3850, was quite excited about it. After installing everthing, I tested it out without installing the monitor, there was a single 'beep' sound which means it's working. But after installing all the cables, there was the 'beep' sound but there was no display. I tried power off it and on it again, there was this message: RV670 GDDR3_16MX32 256BIT 512MB 79C140A and the message just left there for 30 minutes, and the weird thing is there was no beep sound at all. Thinking I may forgot to connect the 6-pin PCI-Express connector, but I have connected it, everything was connected perfectly. After some trial-and-error I found out that this problem starts after connecting my VGA cable into it. Any ideas what the hell is going on?? Please if possible help me solve it......:( Thank You

so I tried installing it with my Radeon X1300PRO, it manage to get into the POST screen, but it got frozen when Initializing USB Controller. So is it my MotherBoard is spoilt or my Radeon HD3850 is spoilt too?? I may be going to claim warranty tomorow....:(

Sounds like a broken motherboard...
However , you made it sound like you connected the monitor to the video card AFTER you turned the PC on (then again , I might have misread/misunderstood it) .
Anyways , congratulations on your HD 3850 .

I think it sounds like your motherboard. Since you are also having USB issues too. Hmmm. You might want to see if you can switch the motherboard and see if your problems continue.

changed to a Gigabyte EP35-DS3P MotherBoard (ASUS P5K-PRO out of stock) and everything worked fine but one of my 1GB RAM stick got burned, but never mind, 2GB is enough.
Damn.... not used to the overclocking feature.....
Anyway a million thanks :):):)
