Hey yall,
Heres the issue: I currently own two 8800 GTS (g80), but its a real heater even with my case having fans everywhere it can.

I looked on eBay and for my cards I should be able to net a 120$ to 150$ price point if I sell them.

I was then looking on Newegg, and I can get an MSI 8800 GT with a far better cooler and The Witcher for ~185$ after rebate. I figure if I can get enough for the cards this would be a cheap 60-100$ upgrade for like 50-70% increase in performance if I SLI'd these as well at the resoultion I run (1680x1050).

Im still somewhat torn, as you can only redeem 1 rebate even if I buy two cards, which would bump that into the 100$ range which is where it becomes shaky. Also, do you all think that the GT will lower even more when the 9800 GTX comes out?

Just wondering what your thoughts are.:D

EDIT: They are GTS 320's by the way, not the 640 version. I can see my cards slug down if I get too much action going on in World in Conflict due to the large amount of textures in that game

GT has lowered significantly already! In my local area it's only $20-$30 above 9600GT price which is brilliant. To get 'The Witcher' is a brilliant deal too! SLI 8800GT would be fairly futureproof. though on what basis I don't know, as future proofing in computers changes every generation. The price should lower even more, though not by much as the 9600GT isn't that much worse performance wise and is a bit cheaper.

Also SLI 8800GT should let you play most games at 1680x1050 with max graphics and near high AA/AF

Get a card from two different companies, i.e. XFX and EVGA.

The different manufacturer idea is a good one! I think I'll do that, that way I can get two different free games too!
Im liking this more and more. Although I think I may just wait until the 9800 GTX comes out so I can see if the price drops even further. ;)

We'll see, its so tempting that I want to go ahead and do it right now...

SLi 8800 GT = same as a single 9800 GX2 , so if you got that , you'd be set for a year or so .
