Ok I see that just a 7800gt means there are a whole bunch of companies that sell that. Which one is the best bang for the bucky...

That depends...if you look closer not all of the cards are clocked the same. BFG is recognized as a quality company by most people do to their lifetime warranty. eVGA and XFX also offer lifetime warrantys. Virtually all of those cards have the same reference design so you'll be buying the same card. My advice is to take a look at the clock speeds, and then decide what kinda of company you're looking at. In my experience eVGA has good price for the customer service they provide as BFG tends to add more of a premium.

Just a thought here on the 'which brand' issue. Some people may also look at 'silenced' boards, without fans, with other heat sink/pipe cooling systems. Just a thought. I know a friend of mine spent a few yen more for a fanless 6600GT board. Personally, I like Elsa boards, but that's just me (and they seem to have a huge selection here in Japan).
