I really hate Mobile Technology, they really sux, I've never seen a Mobile Technology achieve a 4.0 in Vista Experience Index. Even my Pentium 4 HT can perform much better than Centrino Duo

Nope , it can't , actually... there is no way in hell your Pentium 4 can outperform a C2D laptop CPU , or even a Pentium M 1.73 Ghz... well your CPU is prettymuch as powerful as the Pentium M , but as for outperforming dual core CPUs , your CPU can't .
Mobile technology is geared towards using low electricity , rather than computing power / graphics power anyway . Who would want a powerful laptop , with a battery life of 5 minutes ?

Dang I wish I had a super powerful laptop. Some of the newer laptops seem pretty good. Where they have Core 2 extreme processor's, SLI, dual hard drives and physX I don't think those would be that bad. Although It would cost a pretty penny to purchase.

This one does not have a core 2 extreme just core 2 duo but still SLI

They also require you to always have a power outlet available , so battery = useless . So why not get a cheaper and more powerful desktop instead ?

Not really depending on what you are doing with it. I mean if you planned to game with it for extended periods of time you would need an outlet connection but I don't think it would be the same if you were searching the internet away somewhere else. Unless you actually want to carry your desktop when you travel. I mean the laptop battery has also evolved then what it used to be aswell.
I have a super old laptop and it only lasts like two hours without a power connection.
True that desktops are way more powerful but laptops are better for someone on the go if they want to game still. When I travel I don't want to take my super huge desktop that weighs like 80 pounds.

My 1.5 year old laptop (around that) , that doesn't have a dedicated GPU in it , it's battery lasts for about 4 hours .
A dedicated highend video card eats a LOT of power.. even when on non-gaming mode . A laptop without a video card eats considerably less power even when browsing sites .

Why have a powerful laptop which cost damn hell lots. Having a very powerful laptop isn't very worth, unless you want to bring around to show off, which is pretty dumb. It is so much better that you get a powerful gaming desktop which cost so much less and much more powerful, sit in your comfortablr chair, have a glass of nice juice and under a air-con enjoying the latest games rather than playing your powerful laptop outside....

Well little bit of show off factor:D and hey if you have the money go for it. But if your a budget gamer then that wouldn't be the best choice.
LOL I like how you make that visualization of playing a desktop so good(sit in your comfortable chair, have a glass of juice, and under air conditioning) and playing on a laptop is just outside. Ha ha ha!;)
Make it a glass of gin and it's perfect.

I only wish more notebook companies would embrace MXM... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MXM
A desktop may be far more superior, but when I'm on a buisness trip, I like to be able to fire up some games. Lugging around a desktop is not an option.
..and definatly rum, with coke.

Mr.Paulix, no wonder I seldom see you posting threads around here. You convinced me something, if you are really always out for business trip, get a good gaming laptop so you won't be bored in plane etc.
