your calculating the memory throughput as 1000MB/GB, its not, its 1024MB/GB. and 1024kilos/mega etc etc....
nit picking ftl, but we need to in order to get this site perfect!
1024^3 =/ 1000^3, by noticeable margine... this really does change things a fair whack.

actually sometimes it's 1024 so it's easier for people to calculate by estimating their values to prevent confusion. Like 512 X 2, and in Computing the people always estimate, you think they will bother to write out the actual value, like 1.024GB or 1024MB? In Computing nothing is Completely accurate. Like a processor, it stats 2GHz (For Example), it's actual value may be 1998241234 Hz and may sometimes increase and decrease. People always estimate the actual Computer performance to prevent confusion

It's 1024 because it's a multiplication of the number two ( like 2x2x2x2 and so on.. ) . 1 GB is 1024MB , not 1.024 GB .

the actual is 1GB is 1000MB or 1,000,000KB (The real meaning of giga is 1000 X mega), stating 1024MB as 1GB is all estimated, you think anybody will be bothered to write 1.024GB? Like I said, in Computer nobody can give a 100% accurate Computer calculation even the manufacturer

1 GB IS 1024 MB , not 1000MB , FYI .
It's not 1000 , because 1000 can't be calculated by multiplying twos with twos ( sorry , my english is too limited to explain this exactly ) .
2x2=4, 4x2=8, 8x2=16, 16x2=32, etc. up 'til 512x2=1024
A gigabyte is not 1000 MB nor is it supposed to be. The number 1024 is intentional.
This applies to bytes-kilobytes, kilobytes-megabytes, megabytes-gigabytes, and even gigabytes-terabytes.
This sequence also applies to other areas of computing. You don't see many 47 bit CPUs around now do you?;)
