I can get either one of these for about $60 shipped. Is one better than the other? Quieter?
They are both DDR2..
Thanks!

I suggest you don't buy it .
It's basically a piece of crap when it comes to performance .

Ok... so what is better for $60 or less?
I've done a little research and I understand more $$ will get me a lot more power, but that is not an option.
Thanks.
You've got some choices:
NVidia
8400GS - DX10, not fast by any means but still a good card. - $55-65
7600GS - DX9.0c, Good mid-low end card about a year ago. - $60-70
ATi
HD2400 PRO - DX10, not very fast but it runs pretty well. - $45-65
X1600 PRO - DX9.0c, same class as the 7600GS but a little slower. - $50-65
X1650 PRO - DX9.0c, same as above... except faster. - $60-80
I would say that your best bet is to go with the X1600 Pro.
BTW, These are all online prices. If you go to your friendly neighborhood best buy, it will be around $40 more.

so you would X1600 over the 7300GT?
Isn't the 7300GT better than the 8400GS or 7600GS overall?
I'd say that the X1600 is definitely a better choice.
And I think the 7600GS is the same chip with unlocked shaders and higher clock speeds so...
I don't know much about the 8400 series though.

With online prices , you have a chance of finding a 7600 GT for around 60-80 dollars , by the way .

and for goodness sake, dun get a Radeon X1300PRO, it sucked
If you can find it, that 7600GT would be an Incredible choice. Do some looking. For the price range I'd say it outdoes anything right now.
Kinda odd... That's the reason I got my first one more than a year ago...
