Radeon X1950XT or Radeon HD2900XT?

I was confused of which card to buy, Radeon X1950XT seems a good choice because of it's speed and how it can handle DX9.0c well, on the other hand, a Radeon HD2900XT seems a good choice, I've read a article from wikipedia, they say that Radeon HD2900XT is currently the only card that can handle PS/VS 4.0 "perfectly". So do you all think I should get a Radeon X1950XT or Radeon HD2900XT, because nowadays latest games don't really require a DX10.0 card. Many gamers will choose a Radeon X1950XT instead of Radeon HD2600XT, so do you all think which card I should buy?

You said HD 2900 XT at first , but then you said HD 2600 XT . Which one did you mean ?
Anyway , either get a HD 3870 or a 8800 GT . Both cheap , both faster than a HD 2900 XT ( the HD 3870 is 60 dollars cheaper than the 8800 GT ) .

I agree with that the 3870 is better performance wise and takes less power not to mention it is not as expensive. ATI should really just discontinue those sucky ones(HD 2900XT).

In most cases they are about equal . However in Crysis ( which probably matters the most at this point ) , the HD 3870 is faster than the HD 2900 XT.. significantly faster .
Oh and I'm certain they'll still be selling HD 2900 XT cards ,until they run out of them .
Take the FX series , they were introduced several years ago , but still many stores still sell them . They don't keep producing them , but there are still tons left .

burn or crash the FX series card, they really sucks, even my old Radeon 9250 can perform better than the FX5200 although it is PS 1.4, but it still acheive higher FPS than FX5200

When I had an FX 5200 , my friend's Radeon 9250 did not beat it FYI .

Yeah I agree with what you said they are probably equal now but with new drivers the 3870 will surpass 2900. I think they will still be selling them it would just be a shame for someone to buy a 2900 XT and have to use dual 6 pins or a 6 & 8 pin. Instead of one 6 pin. THen they have to deal with noise that the 2900 will make when the 3870 doesn't really make any. A waste of lots of power minus not the best performance. Yeah I know I recently bought a PCI graphics card for an old PC ha ha ha!!;)

When I had an FX 5200 , my friend's Radeon 9250 did not beat it FYI .

Maybe because my Radeon 9250 was improve slightly by PowerColor and my Friend's GeForce FX5200's performance was downgrade by Inno3D, or is it maybe because of my processor or RAM which is better than his made me achieve higher FPS...

Don't ask me , I don't know the machine specifications of your friend :P .
Sunny - the HD 3870 is faster , quieter , cooler , cheaper and more energy efficient , than the HD 2900 XT .
