Don't buy PowerColor x1300PRO, it sux. I wasted S$135 on it and it's only 256MB GDDR2 64 bit and it's memory clock is real slow, 300MHz. I really regret buying this card, should have spent $40 more on PowerColor x1600PRO 128MB GDDR3 128 bit:mad:

Saying that a X1300 card sucks is stating the obvious , mate .

What the hell are you talking about ?
What does that have to do with my post ?
I have a X1600 Pro in my PC , I've had it a little longer than a year , I don't regret purchasing it . When I bought it , even the 7600 GT didn't exist , let alone the X1950 Pro AGP .
And guess what... I don't have any money to buy a better one .

I donīt know what the hell you did understand dude...I meant that i think that a 1600pro does not sound a good option to me.I have several computers at home and my asus 1600pro 256mb is more than 1000pts 3dmark2003 score below than a Galaxy 6600gt 128 (cheaper and older), and 2000pts less than a x800gto (older than both). With no one of them you can run NSF Most wanted at full detail without falling under 25fsp for instance, so imagine a 1600performance for an current/coming game...,Unreal tournament, bioshock,Stalker,Crysis,NFS carbon or prostreet...Totally forget about it! , unless you`d like to be stuck at the lowest level detail game configuration.
Anyway, if you are happy with your card, so much better for you, i donīt know why you felt insulted by my advice to choose a 1950pre instead of a 1600pro...Just accept different opinions my fiend

What it should have happened is that I mistook my first post. I wanted to ask wiz135 and his wish to buy a 1600pro. , and I got confused and replyed you instead. But..Anyway...So anger...Just to tell "donīt buy a 1600pro"...I donīt know dude..

Lol... I thought that was directed at me .
And a friend of mine has a 6600 GT . And overall a better PC than mine , but I still get higher FPS at higher settings than he does in newer games ( Oblivion , F.E.A.R. , NFS : MW , etc. ) .
But yeah... anything below a X1950 Pro AGP is a waste currently .
I'd get a new PC instead of upgrading an old AGP machine though .

Never mind :)Be aware of coming pci-e 2.0 mobos before buying a new pc, i donīt know when but it sounds right at the corner.

I won't be getting a new PC this or the next year probably... I'd actually need some money to buy one . :(

so you mean X1600PRO is considered crappy now, what about my X1300PRO? You think I should throw it away?
Radiator

Lol.. I wouldn't throw anything away.. hell , even my FX 5200 is sitting in a drawer around here somewhere :P . But what I am telling you , is that you should upgrade or just buy a new PC .

wow a GeForce FX5200, that's what my friend is currently using, and he tried playing latest games like infernal, battlefield 2142 with that card and he kept complaining lag lag lag, and having a FPS falling below 10FPS with min settings. Anyway I still have my old times favourite card in my room, a Radeon 9250, I can't bear to sell it away because it brought me good old memories of using for almost a year. I think I should consider buying a new PC next year:p

and there's something which made me almost burst out laughing, my friend just recomment(sorry, forgot spelling) another friend to use GeForce FX5200, he kept saying good point of this card like what Pixel Shader....blah blah blah, as you can see, my the other know nothing about GPUs, so she presume it's a good card and happily bought it just a few months ago....

me too, if it was me, I will at least recomment a GeForce7600GT AGP or Radeon X1950PRO AGP, if she don't want to spend so much money, I will at least recomment her a GeForce 6600 AGP or a Radeon X700PRO AGP

7600 GT AGP = X1650 XT AGP
X1950Pro AGP > 7900 GS AGP .

10-20-2007, 02:26 PM
but I won't be so bad as my friend to recomment her a GeForce FX5200, I think he does that because he's also using a GeForce FX5200 himself and afraid other people's computer's performance can beat him, seriously, his computer's performance is really crap....
Radiator
10-20-2007, 04:25 PM
I don't give a damn if someone's PC beats my PC's performance .
And I cant think of any reason why one should be concerned about other's PCs beating their PC's performance .
Oh well .

10-21-2007, 12:48 AM
me too, what's wrong other with people Computer's performance beating mine, you can never get the world best Computer, even you currently have one, even better PCs will be built, unless you are willing to spent thousands of dollars to have it, but it's not worth it, to me, have a up to date Computer which can play latest games at least Mid-settings is good enough for me. Try comparing my Computer with the currently Gaming purpose Computers, mine already considered bull shit in their eyes

I'm willing to sacrafice some performance for extra eyecandy .
I find 20FPS very playable in most games even .
Anyway , I wish I had thousands of dollars to spend , so I could have a top-notch PC , because I'd really like to play games at their full glory .

mee too...... how I wish I have a million dollars and have the world best computer...:p But if you're do not have enough spare money for computers, playing latest games with Mid-Setting and at least of 50FPS is good enough for me....
Radiator
10-22-2007, 03:42 PM
Mid settings ? Hell , I get 25 FPS at medium in UT3 . And it's high enough for me .

I think to acheive my goals today i need at least a Radeon X1950PRO
Radiator
10-24-2007, 01:32 PM
Well... why 50FPS ? Don't you find 30FPS playable ?
wyz135
10-25-2007, 06:15 AM
30FPS.... ya still considered playable, absolutely no lag, but the higher the better, but I don't know why, not much difference....
Hatman
10-25-2007, 07:34 PM
I try to keep my minimum to about 15 or so, hardly ever come across a situation that puts me at that mind you.
IMO 20+ is more than playable and anything over 30 is just wasted. Honestly at 30+ cannot notice the slightest bit of difference.
Radiator
10-26-2007, 05:49 PM
You don't see the difference between constant 30 FPS and constant 60 FPS , but if you see a FPS drop ( even from 100 to 60 , I did notice it when playing HL2 ), you WILL notice it .

this is the FPS I get when I play HL2 (Max Settings, Full HDR, 1024 x 768 & 2x AA) with my Radeon X1300PRO:
Normally: 30-40FPS
In water or at the surface: 20-30FPS
Looking up to blank sky: 60-70FPS
you are right Mr.Radiator, I didn't experience much difference between 60FPS and 30FPS, when it slows down, I experience difference, it get slightly slower than usual...
Radiator

HL2 isn't exactly a demanding game though .
I have to put 2x AA on in HL2 or the HUD gets screwed up ( I can only see partitions of it and not where they should be ) .
It doesn't happen with Episode 1 though .
