I was wondering if anyone has been able to run X700 pro with a 220w
power supply with any success. And if not what kind of problems may result from
doing so.

they recommend a 300w and i have heard of some who have used lower wattage for other cards without incident.

if anyone can help out it would be much appreciated.

Well i have decided to try it anyway and success.
I installed the latest ati tray tool from guru3d and monitored fan speeds and
temp and all well within range, even system fans and temp are the same. After playing BF2 for about an hour GPU temp was about 58 degrees and CPU temp was only 40 degrees. I wasn't able to run and bench marks so i am
not totally sure the card is running to its fullest but all in all
It is possible to run a ATI x700pro with only a 220w power supply.

Well I'm glad it worked, but seriously man, 220w? You need to upgrade!
