I have been looking at some of these cards. They all seem to be about the same length. I wish Mfg's would list how long their cards are. Anybody who has one of the cards I would really appreciate it if you could tell me how long it is. Thank you NL

Thanks, but that really does not help because I don't know how long your card is. I am looking for length to see if it will fit in my case.
Mine is about 7 and 3/4th inches. Is that accurate enough for your purposes or should I pull out my measuring tape?

Your welcome. Just tell me what do you plan on using it for? Games or photo and video editing?

Then get the x1650xt. If it's light gaming you aint gonna be needing that much horsepower plus it's a good card for a good price.(130 last time i checked)
Or do what i'm doing waiting for the x2k series.

If I get the 1650 it will be the ATI one for $200. The other cards with that chip don't always get along with the ATI Drivers I am told. That is why I ask a lot of questions. Another thought, What if this old man gets hooked on games? You never know. I do appreciate your advise. I do plan on doing some Video Editing. My next questions somewhere will be which Capture unit to get. There is a lot of garbage out there.

Another thought, What if this old man gets hooked on games? You never know. If he does then by all means get the 7950gt but for the same price you can get the x1950xt, It's noisier and hotter then the 7950gt but its stronger way stronger, It's your call.

Hmm well that is something i'm not good at so i dont wanna recommend anything which i'm not sure on. Sorry bout that.

The 1950 is too long for my computer. I slept on your recommendation about the X1650XT. Probably a better choice for me. Now I don't know which one to get. The Sapphire is a great choice but I tend to lean towards the ATI because of drivers. $70 difference. I read that Sapphire has come out with a 512MB version for their card but it is not in the stores yet. I don't know if the added memory would do me any good anyway.

Mike I have a question for you (I know I am a pain in the butt) Seeing you have a 7950 GT, what brand do you have? How Quiet/Loud is it? Every persons review I have read say that it the Leadtek is rather Quiet. Today I was looking into what David suggested (ATI X1650XT). I have been looking at the Sapphire. One person said his made fuzzy spots on the monitor. (Mine does too if I drink too much Bass Ale). Another said his card was Loud. Another said he couldn't get the drivers to work. The ATI is $200 so with all the good reports I have read about the Leadtek and it being pretty quiet I just may go with it. I can not really go with a card that is longer because I am putting it in a Dell E521/ AMD 64 5200+.Thanks both of you for putting up with me and answering my questions. I really do appreciate it. I wish I could buy you both a nice supper. :D

I have this one: http://www.xfxforce.com/web/product/listConfigurationDetails.jspa?series=GeForce%26tra de%3B+7900&productConfigurationId=695916
It has no fan and is completely silent. I'm a big fan of quiet computing...:)

I like quiet too but I do not think that card will fit. Darn Just when I was getting set on the Leadtek I read a couple of personal reviews that said Leadtek was Garbage. What a quandary.

Mike, I just took my puter apart again and looked at how much room I have for a card and it looks like the one you have might fit. My PCIe X1 slot may be hindered but I don't care. I read on the Dell Forum that a guy just put one in the same kind of computer I have. I am waiting to hear from him. I LIKE QUIET TOO. :)

Leadtek isn't what I would consider garbage, but they're not in what I would consider "tier 1" either.
