Newegg has an interesting grid on their site today:

http://promotions.newegg.com/ATI/CrossFire/index.html

Anyone else notice how they have no listing for the x1650 line? I'm wondering whether this is just a mistake on Newegg's end, or if AMDTI is so blatantly stupid as to rename the x1650 line without changing the performance of it. I've never heard a single word about this, but it wouldn't shock me at all if they did this, as the whole x1050 and x1550 line are just ridiculous insofar as marketing is concerned. Hopefully this is just a typo on Newegg's behalf, because I would like to believe that AMDTI isn't low enough to try and con even more people into buying a card that, from a marketing perspective, isn't as good as it's labeled.

What did ati refresh the x1800's now? Or is it really the x1650's being mislabeled? Why is Amd trying to ruin Ati more?(Man i miss when Ati used to be it's own company :( I think above all no matter what cpu and gpu company's should stay separate to ensure chipset support of all sides)

Yeah, I don't have a problem with the AMD acquisition, but AMDs problem of never knowing how to label a product (look at the old x2 4000, 4400 and 4800 having only a different cache and the new x2 3600, 4000, and 4800 that are the Brisbane core, just mixed in for no reason and given the name of old products), and it would appear that they're doing the same thing--if in fact they do rename the x1650 line--with the ATI division. I would almost rather they rehash the x1800 line than run out a re-named product with no changes.

Great things will come out of the merger/buyout, but right now things just don't make any damned sense with their product labeling.

Yep. My point exactly i hate naming scheme but why did they have to cancel all those chipsets for intel? I know they competitors but for gods sake keep everything fair! I wish they'ed keep making crossfire chipsets for intel procs.

Obviously an X1650 typo.

I wrote Newegg's webmasters and told them about it.

Obviously an X1650 typo.It would be were it not for the listing of a vanilla "x1850," of which there is no vanilla x1650, only pro and XT.

It's probably the X1050.

Yeah but the x1550 is there so then i dont see how they could make the mistake?

It's probably the X1050.Well, then it'd be more than a typo, as the x1050 and the x1650 aren't Crossfire compatible as the table would suggest.

Edit: Ok, they fixed it; yeah, it was a typo.

The second one is also an X1050

The second one is also an X1050 :rolleyes:Do you not know how to read a damned grid... or English? Seriously. And you try to paint me as an idiot.

What you had proposed to be an x1050 [the now labeled as x1650 vanilla], and the [now fixed x1650pro] are clearly labeled as being Crossfire compatible, which would have meant the x1050 and x1650pro were Crossfire compatible under the circumstances you've proposed in this thread: that the (mislabeled) x1850pro and XT were just typos for the x1650 line and that the x1850 vanilla was the x1050. You're an ignorant ass who wouldn't consider he were wrong anyway, so why bother explaining to you why what you just said makes absolutely no sense?

Since they fixed the problems, now it just doesn't make sense as there is no vanilla x1650.

I reply to u saying that the second is an X1050 aswell, and u call me an ass..
I suppose a polite response is too much to ask from u..
Couldnt u have just said "No, ur wrong. Its not an X1050"?
Maybe I should stop expecting.. Anything, from other people.

Alright, well u dont deserve this.. not only because ur so incredibly stupid, but also because u show no respect to ur superiors, but ill explain to u why im right.

Ok, so upon my informing them of the error, it has been fixed. Thats good.

Now the only problem is that according to the graph, the X1050 and the X1650 are directly crossfire-able. Since this is not the case, I will inform them of this and they will change the X1050 to be only crossfire-able with the other X1050.

Couldnt u have just said "No, ur wrong. Its not an X1050"?I didn't need to. You were trying to be a one-up'er and call me on something and you were absolutely wrong; everyone hates one-up'er-guy and he receives no cordiality.

Alright, well u dont deserve this.. not only because ur so incredibly stupid...Oh, I'm the stupid one? Damn, my dad is going to be so disappointed, I'm going to have to get him on the blow and let him know! He'll be really surprised to find this out!

...but also because u show no respect to ur superiorsSo, because "ur" dumber than I am, have more posts, and have been around (a couple months) longer, "ur" my superior? "ur" not a forum mod, "ur" not even good at the only forum role "u" play: a pseudo-know-it-all troll. You are, however, good at making yourself look like an ass. The only superiors around here are Mike and Jason... and Steve (Mr. Wizard, I believe?) to a much lesser extent; "ur" not on that list, Sunshine.

Ok, so upon my informing them of the error, it has been fixed. Thats good.Yeah, you and you alone noticed the error and emailed them.

Alright, well u dont deserve this..[.] (--ellipses have three periods, Cowboy.)

but ill explain to u why im right. You are aware that you never actually explained how you were right, are you not? The closest you came was literally saying the exact same thing I had said, of which you argued was wrong. Your original statement was the that the second one is an x1050, too. Since it is a given that the then-listed vanilla x1850 will be compatible with the then-listed x1850, it would clearly be assumed this "second one" is the x1850pro, as it was listed as being the second card that the x1850 is Crossfire compatible with; so, changing that to what you have established is your theory on the mis-naming: "Since it is a given that the x1050 will be compatible with the x1050, it would clearly be assumed this "second one" is the x1650pro, as it was listed as being the second card that the x1050 is Crossfire compatible with." The closest you came to proving yourself right was to say... uh... the exact... same... thing... I said? Let's recap!

In fact? Wow, what an excellent come-back. I assume u have no idea what ur talking about.. The only fact is that u think u can call me out with ur little brain.

Nice rebuttal, troll.

Name calling. Its the calling card of the loser.
Again, thinking that u can talk to me.. this is getting to be a pain.

I didn't need to. You were trying to be a one-up'er and call me on something and you were absolutely wrong;

I have no idea what a "one-up'er" is, or whatever u think it may be.
I'm not wrong. I have stated my point clearly enough.

everyone hates one-up'er-guy and he receives no cordiality.

Its amazing that u actually think that someone would like YOU enough to agree with u that im somehow the hated one around here.
I was here before u were, i know more than u ever will and ur so incredibly stupid that comparing both of us is the craziest thing i can think of.

Oh, I'm the stupid one? Damn, my dad is going to be so disappointed, I'm going to have to get him on the blow and let him know! He'll be really surprised to find this out!

Makes sense him not knowing, being even more stupid that is.
Only a person who is so stupid can have a son as retarted as you.
But thats just my opinion.

Nice reply though - "my parents are sure going to be surprised that im stupid, tee hee hee". Bet it took u over a minute to think of.

So, because "ur" dumber than I am

No, im far smarter than you. But i can see where u got confused.. those "words" are a toughy.

"ur" not a forum mod, "ur" not even good at the only forum role "u" play: a pseudo-know-it-all troll.

A troll? Are u fucking crazy??
Ive helped each and every person who has come onto this forum. I log onto it everyday just to help ppl. All u do is tell them stupid things and start fucked up threads like this one.
Someone needs to ban ur sorry ass.

You are, however, good at making yourself look like an ass.

You reply to my post with cussing and then tell me that I am the one whos the ass?
Can u not sink any lower? We shall see.

"ur" not on that list, Sunshine.

Sunshine? "ur"? You cannot get more pathetic than this..
I am ur superior in knowledge of graphics cards and PC hardware alone.
If u think u know a tenth of what i do, u are sadly mistaken.

Oh, no. Lets not bore the retard.

Look. Ive been on these forums for a while. Over that time, i have not seen a single post of urs that was more than 50% true. That is why i think u are an idiot. The reason I think ur a complete imature retard, is because u choose to fight with me, a person who is far beyong what u can understand. Not only that, but from what u say, it is very noticable that ur not very intelligent either.

So, just to make it even more clear - you have lost the right to talk to me and if i had the ability to, i would without a doubt ban u forever from these forums, because ur an annoying little jackass and im not going to have u on here. If u want, u can talk to the guys at TPU and have another one of my many many accounts banned.
