Power Needs for AGP 7800 GS and 7600 GS

Hello...I'm looking at good AGP cards for my older system, but I was wondering if my power supply could run either of these cards (or the 7600 GT, which I saw discussed on another thread as needing 3 to 4 amps). I've got a 450 W supply with 14 amps on the +12 V rail. Here is my Everest report:

The 7800 GS is better and costs less.. but u cant have it because ur PSU isnt good enough. 22A minimum for the 7800GS, I'd say.

Thanks TRack. HOw about the 7600 GT? I read lots of raves about it, is it better than the 7800 GS, and would I have enough power for it, or would I need a new PSU?

Yeah the 7600gt is alot better and it takes less power.

The 7600 GT takes as much power as the X1650XT.

The 7600 GT is not better than the 7800 GS, and the 7800 GS costs less. If u buy a new PSU, it is a good purchase.

It takes more power because it's core uses a 110nm process, while the 7600 GT uses a 90nm. The power demands are well worth it, while the 7600 GT is so expensive now, that it would be a better idea to buy the X1950 Pro if u want a card that is more expensive than the 7800 GS.

First off the x1650xt is equal to the 7600gt i agree but for in some games it excels in by alot(Hl2,Unreal tournament, Etc) And Texture operations are'nt increasing by that much in newer games only shader op's are . Second Memory bandwith only matters when using AA (As Mike so elegantly put it)
Third Not everyone wants to overclock.
