Download CPUz (http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-138.zip); do you have a socket 939 or AM2 motherboard?
Even at that, your 300w PSU is probably one of the cheap-ass kind that report the peak wattage at incredibly unreasonable usage-temperatures (20ºC), instead of the continuous wattage at a reasonable temperature (40ºC-50ºC). If you want to future-proof yourself, I would suggest something like this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817163111), or even this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817703005)(cheaper from the company itself (http://www.pcpower.com/products/viewproduct.php?show=S61EPS), and they're awesome).
edit: What will be important for you to consider--if you don't look at any of those PSUs--is that you will likely encounter frequent crashing while gaming if you don't get a proper PSU. If you have an AM2 motherboard and DDR2, you don't need as powerful a PSU because DDR2 uses only 2/3 the voltage as DDR(1) does. Also something to consider is how many peripherals you have attached: sound card, USB stuff, DVD/CD drives, ect. If you have a lot of that, your 300 is not going to cut it at all. My preliminary estimate is that you'll need 300w just to run your video card, CPU, RAM, and one HDD. If you ever want to add any HDDs, another video card, more RAM, or any other kind of expansions, you absolutely have to get a new PSU. Again, I suggest looking into either of those two posted there; they may be a little more money, but they are certainly worth every penny of it.

socket 939
thank you for helping me out too :P
I need a good and cheap 500W. I dont need more than 500 cause I know ill be building my own pc in a year or 2.
The cards that you posted are a bit too expensive :S Im looking for something around $80 :(

Well, look at it this way: if you buy one of the above PSUs, you won't have to worry about buying another one in two years; those should both be plenty powerful enough to handle any expansions you might be getting in the next few years.
If you just want something that will probably do the job for a while, this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153023)might hold you over... might. Just keep in mind that all those $50 500w PSUs have half the power of the $100 500w PSUs because it's almost false advertisement.
Edit: And you're going to spend, what $40 right now and another $100 in two years to get either of those two PSUs I posted above, so it's not exactly like you save a lot of money. There is no such thing as a good, cheap, high wattage PSU: you got two of the best out there that are cheap. Just keep in mind, you're really going to end up either spending more money for what you will eventually end up with, or you're going to spend the same--you will not save yourself any money by not buying a quality PSU right now. Even if you have to save for a month or two to get one, it's still better to spend the additional $40 right now and get the good PSU; it's quite possibly the most important piece of hardware in a computer, because nothing will work properly without it.

You would need 34A on the +12v rail to achieve "futureproofness". That is because no PC will ever need more than 34A other than of course the graphics card(s), and for those u can buy an addon PSU for 40-50$. Its an amazing deal.
I reccomend the Enermax FMA II 535w. Its got 34A and a single PCIe connector for the X1950 Pro now. Then later on u can buy the addon PSU for the seond card.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817194010
Now if ur going to be building a new PC with a DX10 card, u may want to buy a ~42A PSU so that it will be able to power a single card and then u wont have to buy 2 addon PSUs for each graphics card, as the 34A will be enough for the rest of the system, but it would be more cost-effective to have the main PSU at least powering a single graphics card.
Oh, and abt the PSU that aliquidparadigm reccomended. 49A on a single rail seems crazy. On the one hand, it means that they would have to have some insanely strong wiring for that to be, so it would actually be stronger than a dual-rail PSU. But if they really have 49A is a question still, because its seems crazy. The biggest ive seen is 33A.

Dude, Track, PC Power & Cooling is the best PSU company on the planet; they have a 1kw (1.1kw peak) PSU with 72a on the single rail.

No. The X1950XT is exactly the same card, but for 250$.
On the other hand, if u want to spend more than 250$, the 8800 GTS for 450$ or the 8800 GTX for 650$ are the choice for u.
Remmember the X1800GTO for 120$. If u unlock it, its not much worse than the X1950XT.
