I heard a very interesting rumor in a chat room today. It seems that the next dx10 gpu form Nvidia will be the G84 at the 250$ price point with 64 Stream processors,16 tmu's, And 16 rop's, While the Ati(Amd) R6xx competitor will have the same amount of Unified shaders just less rop's and tmu's, Can anyone confirm or deny this?
The G84 numbers might be accurate...but I wouldn't believe anything I heard about R600 till I heard it from someone reliable...

I like the G84. Finally us 8800 GTS ppl who have only 96 SPs can feel good that others may have only 64. Up until now it was like having the 7800 without the 7600, so u couldnt feel proud that u had the best, u could only feel better than those ppl with last-gen cards.
These rumors tend to go through stages...right now, with the supposed G84 and R600 we're still at the stage where everone is just making educated guesses and nobody really has any inside info...when some real info gets leaked, I'll be the first one to go on and on about all that might possibly happen with R600 vs G80...:)

I think its been long enough for ATI to keep the details from us.
With the 8800s doing a number on their sales potential, i dont see how they can just allow themselves to say nothing to their fans while keeping the X1950XTX at the exact same price as the 8800 GTS. ATI is starting to let us down.
Soon, nVidia will have released their 8800 GTX 512, and then ATI will bring their X2800XL and X2800XT, that will suck compared to the new 8800 GTX 512. Then ATI will bring out their X2900XT and X2900XTX and nVidia their 8900 GT and 8900 GTX.. Then nVidia will bring out their 8900 GX2 (wich will be really long), followed by the 8950 GX2 wich will own until ATI will release the X2950XTX wich will beat the 8950 GX2 in everything according to ATI's propaganda benchmarks, but will actually be able to beat the 8950 GX2 in Quad-SLi due to nVidia's horribly horribly disgusting drivers that will Never be fixed. Then nVidia will release the 8900 GTO and ATI the X2950XT wich will only have the performance of the X2900XT due to it's smaller ammount of memory.... Then nVidia will release their 9800 GTS and 9800 GTX and ATI their X3800XT and X3800XTX soon after the release of Windows Fista.. and then nVidia.....

Unfortunately, ATi disagrees with you.

Please.. If Mike knew anything he would tell. I dont know why u would think he has connections with ATI. The only person I know who does is W1zzard, and obviously ATI wouldnt tell him just as they wont tell anyone.
I wonder though, how is it beneficial for ATI to keep this info from us? Only way i can see is that their cards suck so much that they dont want to tell us before they are released so that we wouldnt all go out and buy 8800s (just like what happened with the PS3 when they said it was going to be 600$).
