View Full Version : What would you like to see next?
So I have a ton of ideas for this site, but I'm not sure where I want to start...let me know what you think...

I'm pretty sure people would find it useful to have a search function. I know you are working on this but it's at least a suggestion to put in writing so others don't repeat it.
... although inevitably it will be suggested many times over until it's done. :T

This is actually pretty easy...I'll get around to it this week...

I really don't like the flow of the forums where the person's name / information width dictates the width of that side of the window and therefore the thread doesn't really "flow" all that well (the text starts at different points depending on who wrote that post). I'm not sure how this could be fixed but it's just not pleasing to the eyes (at least to me).

Is "videocard" really a word or is it two words (video card). Google "define:videocard" yields nothing but "define:video card" comes up with many hits; and as we all know, Google is the governing authority for all information web related, it just got me to wondering.
Looking at a thing in a bag,

Nice work! Empty and Mentok - you guys got this baby off the ground.
Staying OT here - maybe have a member gallery for video cards?
and lots of member benchmark data :)

Yeah I don't like it either...when I set it up that way, eveyone's user info fit in the box...now some people have names or avatars that push it out bigger than it should be...
I'll fix it eventually...

Any benchmark that runs a standard timedemo I will eventually have on the site for users to submit data...
What games/apps would you like to see?

My name is too fucking long!
If you want me to change it let me know.
I might change it to one of these:
Mentok
Nny
Evil Incarnate
Mr. Eff
EDIT:
Also how do you get the avatar feature to work?
Is that only for super special people?

Doom 3 and Half Life 2 of course.
come to think of it...I'm not sure why I've been dragging my feet with the benchmarks...I'll try to get that set up this weekend...
stuff like doom3 and hl2 have built in timedemos so we should be able to get that going...

How about a For Sale / Wanted section where when people upgrade their cards they can put up what they have to sell. Primarily it would be for vid cards but really I suppose anything could be put up. Maybe make one for Vid Cards and one for "Other" just to keep them seperated.
Good idea?
Oh btw, Mike. You guys are going to have to make a trip this way soon. The deck is pretty much done, the hot tub is in - all we're waiting for now is power to the thing. Then we can get it going! :D Just in time for the cold weather.

I wasn't able to find it but is there a way to sort just by only the cards that come in mobile (notebook) versions? Then perhaps you could go on to show which laptop manufacturers offer these as options.
-Jason
hmm...not really...just search for geforce go and radeon mobility...
That's a good call finding laptops that have different chipsets...but I'm not sure how to go about that...aside from dell or gateway...what other laptop manufacturers would you want to monitor?
Jason

... not sure ...
I suppose we could just go with the big names although I would assert if there are other, generic, offerings out there, it might be a better option for the frugal.
To name a few other big ones:
Compaq
HP
Alienware
Averatec
Durabook
Gateway
Sony
Fujitsu
Toshiba
How to go about it, however, I'm not sure. What I do know, however, is that ... our powers combined - we are CAPTAIN PLA... er ... nevermind12345

Couple of questions from whilst I was attempting to update my profile:
-I can't seem to find the 6800GS in the pull down card list
-I can't seem to upload an avatar :(
Minor quibbles.

Minor quibbles. The 6800GS is definitely there...both the AGP and PCI-E versions... As for the avatars, I just updated vbulletin to the latest version, see if that helps...if not let me know and I'll see what the deal is...
Thad be cool to see some laptop info n other stuff here
